Houseboat Removal Specialists
Expert dismantling and removal of floating homes, houseboats, and barges
Large Vessel Demolition
Houseboats present unique challenges. They are often wide, heavy, and built with residential materials on top of marine hulls. Deteriorated houseboats can be structurally unsound, making them impossible to tow safely.
We have the specialized barges, cranes, and crews to handle houseboat removal safely. Whether we tow it to a ramp or dismantle it right in the slip using containment booms, we ensure the waterway remains clean.
- On-water demolition capable
- Barge & crane service
- Styrofoam flotation removal
- Debris containment booms
- Superstructure dismantling
- Steel & aluminum recycling

Removal Process
1
Structural Assessment
We inspect the hull integrity and superstructure to determine if the vessel can be towed or must be dismantled on site.
2
Environmental Containment
For on-water work, we deploy oil booms and debris curtains to ensure no insulation, wood, or fluids escape into the waterway.
3
Demolition / Towing
We use hydraulic shears, excavators on barges, or towboats to remove the vessel structure and hull efficiently.
Material Separation
Steel and aluminum are recycled. Wood, fiberglass, and insulation are disposed of properly. Styrofoam flotation is bagged and removed.
Typical Pricing Factors
Houseboat removals are complex projects

Cost Factors
- Hull Material: Steel and aluminum have scrap value that can offset costs; fiberglass and concrete do not.
- Condition: Sunken or collapsed structures require significantly more labor and equipment.
- Dimensions: Multi-story houseboats create large volumes of debris that increase disposal fees.
- Location: Distance to the nearest boat ramp or haul-out facility affects towing/barge costs.
