Removing an 18 ft Chaparral Bowrider in Bacliff, TX

We pulled up to the Bacliff boat ramp parking area and saw a tan Chaparral 186 bowrider sitting on a rusty trailer. The brown accent stripe was faded from the Texas sun. The owner bought a new boat and needed this space back fast.

The ground under the trailer was soft mud from recent coastal rains. A heavy haul truck would sink past the rims if we backed straight in. We laid four thick oak swamp mats over the soft patch to make a solid track. Our winch line hauled the trailer across the mats without spinning the tires. Ground like that will pull a boot right off your foot if you step off the wood.

We towed the rig out and hauled the boat to a facility for proper disposal. The fiberglass hull went to recycling, and the owner kept the cleared trailer to use again. For an 18 ft bowrider, our base rate runs around $75 per foot. If you need boat removal in Bacliff or anywhere in Galveston County, call 833-658-4847.

As a rule, we expect coastal mud and salt air to lock up wheel bearings on old trailers. High humidity and standing water rot wood floors and rust frames quickly along the bay. Before any hull goes to a chop yard, we drain all fuel and oil and pull the battery for safe processing. We take the title when you have it, or we sign a release of liability to clear your name.

Boat removal questions from Bacliff owners

What is the procedure for boat disposal?

We haul the vessel from your property to a specialized facility. Hazardous materials like fuel, motor oil, and batteries are drained and recycled first. The fiberglass hull is crushed for landfill disposal or shredded for industrial recycling.

Is my old boat worth anything?

Most old fiberglass boats cost more to haul and process than the materials are worth. Outboards and aluminum trailers hold some scrap value, but rotten hulls carry no resale market. We give clear upfront pricing to tow and dispose of them safely.

Boat removal throughout Galveston County

Crews cover Galveston County: Hitchcock, Galveston, Santa Fe and La Marque. June heat and humid gulf air speed up decay on sitting vessels. Boat owners call us around early summer when they want clear yard space for new equipment or need to dispose of forgotten projects before storm season starts.
