We pulled up to the rural lot in Leeds and found an 18 foot white Grady-White Fisherman sitting deep inside a dark pole barn. The red boot stripe was dusted with red dirt, and the outboard motor was tilted up. An insurance company wrote the center console off after a falling branch cracked the console rails, and they hired us to haul it away.
The main challenge was getting the rig out of the yard. The owner had a side gate that gave our truck and trailer only two inches of clearance on each side. My crew dropped the trailer hitch onto a hand dolly to steer the tongue by hand while I guided the tires through the post posts. We checked the trailer tires for dry rot, added air to the left wheel, and slowly walked the boat clear of the fence line without touching the gateposts.
Since the fiberglass hull had no structural cracks, we towed the vessel straight to a local repair yard that buys sound hulls for rebuilding. Our price sheet lists boats under 20 feet at about $75 a foot. Call 833-658-4847 if you need boat removal in Leeds or anywhere in Jefferson County.

In our experience, aluminum and fiberglass hulls stored in damp spaces develop heavy algae and internal rot if left alone. Before we haul any vessel off a property, our crew drains the fuel lines, pulls the engine oil, and disconnects the battery for safe recycling. We take the title when there is one, or we sign a release of liability so the craft is completely off your name.

Boat disposal questions
Is my old boat worth anything?
Most junk boats have little resale value due to hull rot or engine failure, but sound hulls can sometimes go to a salvage yard. We inspect every boat during removal to see if the parts or fiberglass can be saved, recycled, or disposed of properly.
How much does it cost to remove a boat?
Boat removal pricing depends on the length of the vessel, its location, and whether it sits on a working trailer. We measure the boat from bow to stern and review the access path before giving you an upfront cost for the job.
Removing boats across Jefferson County
Crews cover Jefferson County: Bessemer, Adamsville, Gardendale and Hueytown. High June heat and sudden summer storms cause heavy water buildup inside parked boats across this region. Uncovered hulls quickly collect rainwater, which ruins electrical wiring and turns sitting vessels into breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
