The owner tried pulling this 18 ft Key West 186 center console out with his own truck first. His tires spun in the soft soil, and the tow strap snapped. A local builder needed the backyard cleared before framing could start. The white fiberglass hull had sat in the tree line behind the house so long that the waterline had turned yellow.
We backed our flatbed as close to the brush as the dirt allowed. Wasps had built three big nests under the steering console, so we sprayed them early and gave the dust time to work. We cleared the branches around the back of the hull, laid heavy plastic boards under the tires to keep them from digging into the dirt, and hooked our winch cable to the bow eye. The boat came out of the weeds without tearing up the yard.
Our crew hauled the boat straight to a repair yard because the hull was still solid. For a hull this size, our price sheet lists boats under 20 feet at about $75 a foot. Call 833-658-4847 if you need boat removal anywhere in El Mirage or Maricopa County.

In our experience, the hard sun in this region wrecks raw rubber and upholstery fast. Dry heat splits the vinyl seating and turns old trailer tires brittle before the fiberglass ever goes soft. We always drain the fuel tanks, flush the oil lines, and pull the battery before taking any boat for recycling. We take the title when you have it, or we sign a release of liability so the craft is completely off your name.

Boat disposal questions
How much does it cost to junk a fiberglass boat?
We charge based on the total length of the vessel and how hard it is to reach. Small hulls sitting on working trailers cost less to haul than submerged, broken, or blocked craft. Call us with your boat’s length and location for a straightforward price before we head out.
Can you get a boat out of my backyard?
Yes, our crew pulls boats out of backyards every week. We use heavy winches, dollies, and ground boards to roll vessels through narrow side gates or out of thick brush without damaging your grass. You do not need to move the craft into the driveway before we arrive.
