Removing an 18 ft Chaparral Bowrider in Country Club, CA

The trailer tires were buried in dirt and dry rotted to the steel rims. Above the rusty frame sat an 18 ft Chaparral 186 bowrider with a yellowed white fiberglass hull. A winter storm had dropped a large oak limb straight through the windshield, and the owner wanted the yard cleared.

Our crew could not drive a heavy truck onto the lawn without sinking into the soft dirt. We parked on the driveway, unspooled an electric winch cable, and set heavy plastic traction mats along the ground. We hooked onto the trailer axle, pulled the rig clear of the tree line inch by inch, and mounted inflated spare wheels so it could roll safely onto our flatbed for the haul.

The sterndrive motor was seized, but the hull remained structural, so we sold the vessel to a local repair yard for rebuild parts. Our standard rate for boats under 20 feet runs roughly $75 per foot. For boat removal in Country Club or anywhere in San Joaquin County, call us at 833-658-4847.

In our experience, intense dry heat bakes vessels parked outdoors for years. The sun fades the gelcoat, rots the tires, and cracks vinyl seats until the hull becomes an eyesore. Before any boat goes to scrap or salvage, we drain all fuel and crankcase oil and remove the lead-acid battery for proper disposal.

Boat disposal questions

How to get rid of a bad boat?

Call our crew to haul the vessel away. We drag flat-tired trailers out of backyards, winch dead hulls off the grass, and transport them for scrap, salvage, or recycling. You do not need to clean the vessel or prep it for transport.

Do I need a title to have my boat removed?

A clear title speeds up the process, but we can usually help if you lost it. We take the title when you have it. If the paper is missing, we sign a release of liability to clear your name from future owner responsibility.

Crews cover San Joaquin County: Stockton, Tracy, Manteca and Lathrop. Early summer brings a surge of boat removal calls across the area. Homeowners clear out side yards before high heat sets in, removing old runabouts that failed winter startup or suffered storm damage during seasonal weather shifts.
