Ski boats built in the nineties usually hold onto their paint better than their engine parts. A widow in Holiday City-Berkeley called us about a 19 ft Correct Craft Sport Nautique sitting in her yard. The burgundy hull and white deck looked fine from twenty feet away, but the inboard motor had not run in years. She needed the sandy lot cleared out so she could sell the house.
The boat was sitting behind a narrow side gate. We had maybe three inches of room on each side of the trailer tires. Pushing it through with a truck was a good way to take down a fence post. Our crew hooked a hand winch to a tree out front, laid wood planks over the loose sand, and guided the trailer out inch by inch. Steering a trailer by hand on soft dirt takes two men on the tongue and one watching the hubs.
We towed the rig to a salvage yard that takes fiberglass hulls. The trailer had good frame metal, so we cleaned it up for reuse, and sent the rest to recycling. Our price sheet lists boats under 20 feet at about $75 a foot. If you have an unwanted hull in Ocean County, call 833-658-4847 for boat removal.

In our experience, New Jersey winters do more damage to idle ski boats than summer sun. Water sitting inside a hull freezes during cold snaps, cracking the outer coating and soaking the core wood at the back of the hull. Before we haul any hull away, our crew pumps out the old fuel, drains the motor oil, and pulls the battery for safe disposal.

This is an illustrative case built from the kind of work we do in Ocean County, not a record of one customer’s job. The photos are illustrative as well.
Before you call: two common questions
What if my boat engine is inoperable?
We take boats with dead or seized motors all the time. Our crew uses electric winches, rollers, and tow gear to pull non-running vessels onto our trailers. An inoperable engine will not stop us from completing your boat removal.
Can you scrap a boat at a scrap yard?
Most regular scrap yards only buy the metal parts, like aluminum rails, cleats, and stainless hardware. They usually reject the fiberglass hull itself. We bring the boat to a specialized facility that strips the metals for scrap and grinds the fiberglass properly.
Where our crews work around Holiday City-Berkeley
Crews cover Ocean County: Point Pleasant, Tuckerton, Beachwood and Point Pleasant Beach. June brings many calls as family members clear out yards for summer home sales. Older hulls left sitting on coastal sand accumulate rust underneath, making winter cover tears and hull rot obvious once the weather warms up.
